INVERNESS, Florida - Brittany Arnett, 20, admitted to Citrus County deputies in an arrest affidavit that she became so angry she ended up killing her own 6-month-old son.

It allegedly happened at Brittany's boyfriend's grandfather's home in Inverness on Sunday, January 27, 2013.

Detectives with the Citrus County Sheriff's Office say Brittany, who stands 5'4" and weighs 200 pounds, was home alone with her son, Hadley. They say she admitted to becoming frustrated and angry that her boyfriend left her alone with the child.

Investigators say over a period of a couple of hours, Brittany  slammed his face on the tray of his swing, yanked him from the swing, and then shook him. She told investigators she knew Hadley was hurt and had hit his head on the back of the swing when she pulled him out. She says she didn't get help because she was scared and afraid to tell her boyfriend, so she put Hadley to bed around 10 p.m.

Detectives say the last time Brittany heard her son breathing was around 5:30 a.m. The next day, Brittany and her boyfriend took Hadley to Citrus Memorial Hospital. He wasn't breathing, and though medical personnel worked for an hour to try to revive him, they couldn't save him.

But investigators say they did notice something. They say Hadley had bruises on his rib cage and a bite mark on his thigh.

Meanwhile, that same day, Brittany shared her grief with friends on her Facebook page. She spoke of a funeral home donating their services to hold a service and cremation for Hadley for free. She asked for donations to cover any other costs, and even asked friends if they had paper and a printer so she could work on programs for her son's funeral.

Friends posted messages of support on her Facebook page until her arrest for first degree murder on Monday, Feb. 4. Now many of those friends' comments have turned ugly.

The medical examiner says Hadley died from a separated spine, brain hemorrhaging, broken ribs, and lacerations in his mouth.

Eric Connor lives in the neighborhood where it happened. He's the father of a young child and says, "This is sad. I mean, it's unfathomable. It's unexplainable."

Brittany Arnett is in jail at the Citrus County Detention Facility after her arrest for first degree murder. She was locked up during her son's viewing and funeral service, which was held Monday evening at Brown Funeral Home and Crematory in Lecanto.
