Hi, I'm Adrian. I'm a 56 lb black lab mix and am about 1 yr old.  I was rescued by Suncoast Animal League from a high-kill shelter in Georgia, where I was scheduled to be killed because they had too many dogs.

I broke one of my back legs when I was younger and my old family didn't take me to a vet to have it set, so it didn't heal correctly. It hurt a lot, so I held it up most of the time and the people say the muscle is the main problem with it now. My awesome foster family is helping me to do some physical therapy (yes, works for us doggies too).  It's working really well and I am using my leg more and more every day!  It's giving me a new lease on life!  Last weekend, I even walked 1.5 miles at Wall Springs Park.

I love my foster family-it's good to finally have people be nice to me.  They have dogs and cats and I get along great with both.  I do like to chase the cats sometimes because I think they're playing with me when they run, but I never hurt them.  They're kind of cute and their food is really yummy.   I also like playing and snuggling with kids.

I am crate trained and house trained.  I'd do anything for my people.  I like getting lots of attention and I do my best to try to understand what they want.  I would prefer to live in a home where I won't have to be alone for long periods of time.  I really want to be a constant companion and don't have a mean bone in my body-- I never growl or do anything aggressive.    They say I am a "keeper" and if they had room for one more dog, it would be me.  I hope I'm lucky enough to finally find a family who will love me for my whole life.

I'm still staying with my foster family, so to make an appointment to meet me, please call the Suncoast Animal League office at 727-786-1330
