Ruskin, FL-- UPDATE: The teen that was shot in this incident is reportedly in stable condition at Tampa General Hospital.
After further investigation, officials say the victim and another 15-year-old teen were outside on the street handling a small caliber semi-auto handgun when one round was discharged- striking the teen in his upper body.
According to reports, it it still not clear who had the gun at the time it went off.
Deputies have recovered the gun and will continue investigating on how, and from where, the boys obtained the gun.
At this point the shooting is being labeled as an accidental discharge and officials do not anticipate any charges, though the investigation is ongoing.

Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputies have responded to a shooting of a 15-year-old boy off the 1400 block of Alhambra Crest Drive in Ruskin.
Preliminary reports say the teen was walking down the street with a friend who had a gun that accidentally discharged, and struck him.
Officials received the call at approximately 5:20 p.m. Wednesday evening.
The victim was airlifted to a local hospital, and was reportedly conscious and alert when he left the scene.
