TAMPA, Florida - Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man riding a bicycle around the Grande Oaks Apartments minutes before a security officer was killed at the complex. Detectives say the person could be the key to solving Michael Valentin's Thanksgiving eve murder.

"There's a very good possibility that (the person is) not involved (with this crime), but we have to dot all of our Is and cross all of our Ts and make sure he's not involved somehow," Police spokesperson Andrea Davis said on Monday.

The video is from surveillance cameras at the apartment complex and, in one of the recordings, the person can be seen with a bandana covering part of his face.

The person's bike was found next to Valentin's body.

Valentin, who was working for Critical Intervention Services, was married and had two sons ages 4 and 9.

Funeral arrangements have not been made public.

Officials say if you can help identify the person riding the bike you are urged to call Crimestoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS.
