Gulfport, FL-- It was around noon today when officers responded to reports of multiple burglaries, and three shots fired in the area of Pasadena Yacht and Country Club.

They first responded to the 5900 block of Pelican Bay Plaza, where they were given a description of the suspect, and news of the three gunshots.

They would later discover the shots were fired from a gun belonging to a resident in the neighborhood, who was one of the suspect's three home burglary victims.

According to reports, the homeowner provided officials with a surveillance video of the suspect in action.

The video shows the suspect approaching the front door of one of the homes and knocking.  After he received no answer, he went to the rear of the house and broke a window in an attempt to make entry, reports say.

The home was occupied by an 11-year-old girl, who immediately contacted her father. He works only a few miles away.

The father reportedly arrived home, armed himself, and then saw the suspect fleeing from behind his house on foot.

That's when officials say the man chased the suspect in his vehicle across the golf course.  When he stopped his car and got out of the vehicle, the suspect reportedly turned and pointed a firearm in his direction.

That's when the father fired several shots at the suspect, who ran away. Officials believe he was not hit.

The suspect was wearing black shorts, black and white Puma shoes, black polo with a grey long sleeve shirt underneath, black hat, black sun glasses, wearing a necklace and a black watch.

The Gulfport Police Department requests the public's help in identifying the suspect. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Gulfport Police Department at 727-893-1030 and request to speak to the on-duty supervisor.
