Polk County deputies searching for home invasion suspect

MULBERRY, Florida -- The Polk County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's helping in finding a wanted home invasion suspect.

According to deputies, two black men knocked on the door of a mobile home at 4230 Highway 60 in Mulberry at approximately 12:20 a.m. Saturday.

A resident who answered the door was knocked unconscious. The suspects then allegedly entered the home and attacked two other residents. Deputies say one victim is a 70-year-old man who suffered serious injuries. He was taken to Lakeland Regional Medical Center in critical condition.

The sheriff's office said the suspects took property and money before fleeing the home.

Homicide detectives identified one of the men as 31-year-old Walter Morrison of Lakeland. He's currently wanted for attempted first degree felony murder, armed robbery, home invasion, and armed burglary.
