SEMINOLE, Fla. - President Barack Obama kicked off his weekend campaign tour through Florida right here in Tampa Bay.

Former Florida Governor Charlie Crist introduced him to the packed crowd during a rally at St. Petersburg College.

"Even though I was still a Republican, when we had an oil spill, when we needed help for our teachers, our police, our firefighters, President Barack Obama was there for us," Crist said of their relationship during his time in office.

President Obama discussed a number of issues, ranging from education to the Affordable Care Act.

"I do care, so I like the term 'Obamacare'," President Obama told the crowd. "Mr. Romney says he's going to repeal it, which means his plan is Romney don't care."

Boca Ciega High School teacher Alicia Isaac stood in line for three hours before the gates opened, then waited another three hours at Natural Habitat Park Field to see the speakers, among them, U.S. Senator Bill Nelson and Congresswoman Kathy Castor. Isaac was among thousands of ticketholders who waited in the heat for speakers to begin. Several of them became dehydrated or passed out during the wait. They were attended to by paramedics and, at one point, even an Army soldier in the crowd who stepped in to help.

"I wanted to be here to see the crowd, feel the energy," Isaac said. "I want to hear how they plan on working with or without Congress to get the things done that we need."
