Tampa, Florida -- UPDATE: The apparent kidnapping turned out to be a father picking up his 16-year-old daughter after she missed her bus.

Officers searching for the missing girl spotted the vehicle of question at a fast food restaurant near 30th St. and confronted the driver, 31-year-old Arma Rechard Mitchell.

Police say Mitchell explained that he was in an argument with his daughter after she missed her bus and called him for a ride.

When he arrived, the girl told him that she planned to wait for her grandparents to pick her up instead, as they are her  legal guardians and advised her to do so.

Reports say he forced her into the car anyway, but drove her to her grandparents' house.

Police later found the girl uninjured, shopping with her grandmother.
