Sarasota, Florida - Investigators with the Manatee County Sheriff's Office are hoping someone can help them crack a case about a violent attack that started on Thursday evening.
It took place in the area of Myrtle and U.S. 41 in Sarasota after a 33-year-old woman was abducted in the area at gunpoint by two black men driving a dark Jeep Cherokee.
The victim says she was blindfolded and sexually assaulted several times by the suspects during the night.
Dave Bristow, a spokesperson, for the Manatee County Sheriff's Office says, "It certainly does worry us not only was she sexually assaulted, they continuously threatened her and talked about the things they would to do her if in fact she talked about it."
At around 4:00 on Friday morning, the victim was put back into the Jeep Cherokee. The suspects drove her around for a short time and let her out of the vehicle in the 200 block of 13th Ave. W. in Bradenton, which is near Manatee High School.
A deputy driving home from work spotted the victim and stopped to help her.
The Sarasota Police Department is working the abduction and the Manatee County Sheriff's Office is working the sexual battery. If you have any information on the incident, call the Manatee County Sheriff's Office at 941-747-3011 or Crime Stoppers at 866-634-TIPS.
Bristow adds, "She was picked up around 7 o'clock in the evening so someone may have seen something because obviously it's still light at that time."
