Palm Harbor, Florida -- Detectives have arrested two more people who they say helped a man accused of recruiting underage runaway girls for prostitution.
During the course of the investigation into the case against James Perdue, detectives obtained information that both 49-year-old Mikki Pitts and 19-year-old Michael Bowers were also involved.
Detectives say Bowers took photos of the young girls that were used in online escort ads. He also provided security for them when they went out to their appointments.
Pitts taught the girls how to format their ads, how much to charge and helped them pick out locations or hotels for meetups. She also used her own credit card to pay for the online ads and allowed the girls to use her clothes and makeup.
Detectives say Pitts also had an active ad on backpage.com for herself where she offered escort services.
Bowers was arrested for one count procuring a minor for prostitution. Pitts was arrested for 2 counts procuring a minor for prostitution.
Also, during the investigation it was revealed Pitts' son, Stephen, was involved in the theft of a firearm from Palm Harbor. He was arrested and charged with Grand Theft and Possession of a Firearm.
The investigation is ongoing at this time.
