Video: Security video shows home invasion suspects

St. Petersburg, Florida -- St. Petersburg police have released chilling surveillance video from a deadly home invasion earlier today.

Right now, a manhunt is still underway for the people responsible for that crime.

It was one of two violent robberies that took place within 30 minutes of each other beginning at about 4:30 a.m.

The images from the second robbery, captured just before 5:00 Tuesday morning, were taken at 41-year-old Richard Shaw's home on Orphine Drive. The home security video shows four men in their late teens or 20's, bursting into the house, guns drawn, yelling "Police! Police! Police!"

Later, away from the camera's eye, there are sounds of a struggle... and then a gunshot.

"There's noise from inside the house for about another minute, and then they come running outside," said St. Petersburg police spokesman Bill Proffitt.

Police believe the attack was not random, and that the suspects targeted Shaw's house expecting to find guns, jewelry or cash.

Less than 30 minutes earlier, another home invasion had taken place about two miles away, at a home in the 5800 block of 1st street North.

In that case, the home's security system was not working but the details of the two crimes, say police, are almost identical.

"Everything suggests that the same suspects from the first case are responsible for the second case and the murder," said Proffitt.

Detectives were canvassing the streets with DVD's and video players, showing people the images today, hoping to get leads.

"They might help us identify these people as well," said Proffitt.

The couple in the first home invasion has been identified as Gregg and Rebecca Gordon.

Gregg, 51, was struck in the head several times, but was treated and released from Bayfront Medical Center.

In a tragic twist, Rick Shaw was planning to attend a memorial service for his loving wife of 18 years, Tory. She died of cancer in the same home just eight days ago.
