MIAMI (CBSMiami) - A passenger has been arrested at Miami International Airport after becoming unruly on a flight from Montego Bay, Jamaica.

According to Detective Alvaro Zabaleta, the passenger appeared to be drunk and tried to rush the cockpit of the plane.

The flight, American Airlines Flight 320, landed at Miami International Airport shortly after 11 a.m. Friday.

Passengers grabbed the allegedly drunk passenger and held him until Miami-Dade Police arrived at the plane.

The plane landed at MIA and stopped at Gate D48 where police were waiting to take the man into custody.

American Airlines told CBS4 the plane had just landed when the passenger became unruly and refused to obey commands, but wouldn't confirm what Miami-Dade Police said happened.

Miami-Dade Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation responded to the scene, and at least one bag was taken off the plane and examined.

The unruly passenger was charged with disorderly intoxication and resisting arrest by Miami-Dade Police.

There were 165 passengers on board Flight 320 at the time.
