Tampa, Fl. - It's the national holiday of love. So why not show some to love to a pet that was abused?
Dozens of rescued animals will be put up for adoption on Tuesday, just in time for the cuddliest holiday of the year.
The Hillsborough County Animal Services is hosting a special adopt-a-thon on Valentine's Day to call attention to some of the neediest and most deserving animals. These animals have spent most of their lives in abusive and cruel situations.
Dozens of animals seized in a pair of high profile animal abuse investigations last week are now available for adoption.
There are dogs, cats, puppies, kittens, birds, rabbits all waiting to give you unconditional love.
"Because we know the animals have a way of picking you, and isn't that the greatest feeling for Valentine's day after all?" says Marti Ryan with Hillsborough County Animal Services.
Here are the shelter hours:
- Tuesday - Friday - 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
- Saturday - 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
- Sunday - 11 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Keep in mind, adoptions close 30 minutes prior to the shelter on weekdays.
