St. Petersburg Mayor Bill Foster
ST. PETERSBURG, Florida - Echoing a sense of being "left in the dark" on the city's relations with the Tampa Bay Rays, first reported by the St. Petersburg Times Friday, one city council member tells 10 News that he wants an update from Mayor Bill Foster.
The council is expected to add an item to next Thursday's council agenda requesting an update from the administration as to where the city stands with the Rays, publicly lobbying for a new stadium.
TIMELINE: Two years of developments in the Rays' Stadium Saga
Foster met Thursday with a business group interested in fostering a regional discussion for a new stadium.
But with over a million dollars in equity in Tropicana Field, Foster has drawn a line in the sand, which Rays principal owner hasn't taken kindly to. The two haven't discussed the stadium in months.
