Update:  The Hillsborough County Sheriffs Office has arrested a suspect in a hit and run fatality in Plant City.  A Crime Stopper tip led deputies to a home on West Ball Street where they located 30-year-old Ignacio Jose Gonzalez.  He is currently being held at the Hillsborough County Jail on charges of leaving the scene of a crash with death and injury and driving without a license.

Plant City, Florida -- The search is on tonight for the person who Sheriff's deputies say hit a biker and his passenger and kept right on going.

The crash took place around 11:00 p.m. last night in Plant City at the intersection of Wilder Road and Quail Oaks Road.

Investigators with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office say Roger Chesteine and his female passenger were heading south on Wilder Road when someone in a SUV turned right in front of them.

Chesteine died at the scene. His passenger was rushed to Lakeland Regional Hospital, where she's listed in critical condition tonight.

Tammy Simmons was on her front porch and says she saw what happened.

"When he came in and hit the bike, the front end of the truck went over the bike and he backed up from the bike, which threw the guy right here and the girl she ended up over there and when he backed up over the bike, I yelled and told him to stop and he would not. He had no remorse," she said.

The SUV is described as a blue-green Expedition type vehicle with two tow hooks on the front. Deputies say the truck's front end should be damaged.

If you were in the area at that time, or know who was driving the vehicle, call the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at 813-247-8200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-8744.
