Plant City, Florida -- The Plant City Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred overnight at Woodbridge Apartments.
Detectives say 24-year-old Tiffany April Lamar died from upper body trauma.
Police tell 10 News Lamar was fighting with her boyfriend when he allegedly killed her and then took two of their children -- twins -- with him to a family member's home nearby, confessing what happened.
When police arrived at the apartment, they found Lamar's body, and a third child still inside. That child and the other children are now in protective custody.
10 News spoke exclusively with Lamar's father, James Young. He said he got the call about his daughter early this morning.
"I am going to miss her so much," said Young. "She was a good mother and had three beautiful children. I am furious at her boyfriend and I want justice for Tiffany."
Young said he met her boyfriend once, but his daughter never talked to him about her relationship with her boyfriend.
The boyfriend is in police custody and being questioned. He has not yet been arrested, but is being cooperative.
Young said the twins belonged to both his daughter and the boyfriend, while the third child -- who he said has special needs -- belongs to his daughter and another man.
