St. Petersburg, Florida -- A number of people have already stated they're not interested in replacing Jennifer Carroll as Lt. Governor.

On Thursday, state Senator Jack Latvala of Largo told 10 News via text: "I like the Governor but I am planning to be Senate President."

Earlier it was reported that House Speaker Will Weatherford of Wesley Chapel was not interested in the job either.

When asked if she'd be interested in the position, former Hillsborough County Commissioner and former state Sen. Ronda Storms said, "Do you hear the laughter coming all the way from Tallahassee?" implying she didn't think she'd even get serious consideration.

Governor Rick Scott says he'll pick a replacement for Carroll after the current legislation session is over in May.

Among the many people who could get serious consideration are state Rep. Dana Young of Tampa, state Sen. Anitere Flores of Miami, former state Sen. Ellyn Bogdanoff, Adam Hasner and state Sen. Lizbeth Benacquisto from Wellington.
