ATLANTA — Police say the former fiance of a cast member from "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" has died after a fight outside an Atlanta strip club.
Atlanta police spokesman James Polite says Fredrick Richardson has been arrested and charged with voluntary manslaughter in the death of Ashley "A.J." Jewell.
Jewell died from massive head injuries after a Friday night fight in the parking lot of the Body Tap Club.
Jewell was engaged to "Housewives" cast member Kandi Burruss until August. He appeared in several episodes of the show, which follows metro Atlanta socialites.
Police say Jewell and Richardson worked at the club. They are not sure what caused the fight.
On her Twitter page, Burruss thanked her followers for her prayers.
"I could never imagine in a million years this happening. Please pray for AJ's children. That's who I am most concerned 4," she wrote.
Jewell had six children. Burruss and Jewell remained close, though they broke off their engagement in August.
Burruss is a Grammy-winning singer-songwriter and former member of the 1990s R&B group Xscape.
