(USA TODAY) The mother of the only American adult on board Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370, which disappeared en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, spoke out Saturday.
"I know in my heart that Philip's with God," said Sandra Wood of her son Philip Wood, an IBM employee from Texas. She said she is getting through the trauma. "Only people who know God can survive things like this."
The other Americans aboard were children: Nicole Meng, 4, and Yan Zhang, 2.
Eight of the Chinese passengers and 12 of the Malaysian passengers work for Austin, Texas-based company Freescale Semiconductor, the company confirmed.

"At present, we are solely focused on our employees and their families," said Gregg Lowe, president and CEO of Freescale, which produces and designs embedded hardware. "Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by this tragic event."
Two passengers on the flight manifest weren't on board the plane and their passports were, in fact, stolen, according to foreign ministry officials in Italy and Austria.
U.S.: Reviewing possible terror links
Italian news agency ANSA reported that the Italian citizen whose name is on the passenger manifest, Louis Maraldi, 37, from Cesena, was not aboard the plane and had phoned his parents to say that he is well. He had reported his passport stolen Aug. 1 in Thailand. The Italian Foreign Ministry has confirmed that the Italian was not on board the aircraft.
Austrian Foreign Ministry spokesman Martin Weiss told the AP that a name listed on the manifest matches an Austrian passport reported stolen two years ago in Thailand. Weiss would not confirm the identity.
A breakdown of the nationalities represented on board Flight MH370 show the majority were Chinese:
