The body of a man was found in the landing gear wheel well of a South African Airways plane parked at Washington Dulles International Airport Saturday, authorities said.
The body was discovered at about 1:30 p.m. by a ground crew assigned to the plane, an Airbus A340, according to a statement from the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority. The plane was parked in a remote area of the airport.
Authorities are investigating the man's death. His body will be turned over to the Fairfax County Medical Examiner's Office.
The operation of the airport was not affected, the statement said.
