Reno, Nevada (RGJ) -- An elderly man entered Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center on Sunday
morning and shot his wife in the chest, the Carson City Sheriff's

entered the hospital at about 11:20 a.m. and proceeded to the third
floor, where he shot his wife before state correction officers, who were
on the same floor, subdued him, according to Carson City Sheriff Ken
Furlong. He was placed under citizen's arrest until deputies arrived
"They took action to prevent this incident from escalating," Furlong said. "So it was very quickly brought under control."

Medical Center in Reno, said Cheri Glockner, spokeswoman for the Carson
Medical Center. Authorities said in a news release Sunday night that

Tahoe was placed on lockdown for two hours following the shooting. It
reopened at 1:45 p.m., Furlong said Sunday afternoon, and normal

On Dec. 17, Alan Oliver Frazier opened fire at the Renown Regional Medical Center campus in Reno.
