ROSEVILLE, Minn. (KARE) - A Ham Lake, Minnesota man says he "ran around his office
screaming" after finding out he held one of three winning tickets from Wednesday night's $448 million lottery jackpot.
The Minnesota State Lottery held a 2 p.m. news conference to announce that Paul White from Ham Lake was the Minnesota winner.
Paul White said he's imagined winning the lottery "so many times in my head."
White, a father of two, is a project engineer at Elliott Contracting
in Minneapolis. He told our sister station KARE 11 that he bought five lottery
tickets Wednesday night.
"I remembered the Powerball last night so I went and bought five,"
said White. He bought the tickets at a Holiday gas station in Ham Lake.
White checked his tickets Thursday morning and realized he was one of
the three winners of the $448 million jackpot. He says "it's a
whirlwind" and that he's thinking of his family first.
"We're taking our items in order, lot of work to do, but it's very exciting," he said.
Two other jackpot-winning tickets were sold in New Jersey. Back here in Florida, four people won $1 million Powerball prizes.
