Arlington, Texas-- Several reports surfaced Friday night of a woman's death at the Six Flags Over Texas theme park.

A blog named, "DallasNews", powered by the Dallas Morning News, said that Six Flags spokesperson Sharon Parker confirmed the incident in the following statement:

We are deeply saddened to share that earlier this evening an adult woman died in the park while on the Texas Giant. Park medical staff and local paramedics responded immediately. Since the safety of our guests and employees is our number one priority, the ride has been closed pending further investigation. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends during this difficult time.

The report also points to several tweets from others visiting the park, and even riding the same roller coaster when the woman lost her life.

A tweet posted around 8:45 EST by Joshua Paul Fleak, said, "Literally just witnessed someone fly off of the Texas giant two seats in front of me."

Fleak tweeted shortly after saying he was "praying for the best" but couldn't imagine anything other than the worst after the woman's "restraint came undone, coaster turned and she was gone."

Investigators are reportedly at the scene, and have not confirmed the above statements. The Associated Press reports that Arlington police Sgt. Christopher Cook, the department spokesman, referred all questions to Parker. No other details were available.

Ten people were also reportedly injured on a ride at a completely different theme park in Sandusky, Ohio Friday evening.

WKYC says the "Shoot the Rapids" ride at Cedar Point was going up a hill around 6:30 p.m. when it malfunctioned, and sent the boat backwards into the water.

At least one person was reported to have been taken to the hospital for treatment.
