(USA TODAY) A few readers have let me know that today is an essential holiday: National Cereal Day.
If you didn't chow down on a bowl this morning, you may want to treat yourself to some Cap'n Crunch or Lucky Charms after work.
Personally, I avoid sugary cereals except for around Halloween, when I can't help but buy a box of Count Chocula. During the rest of the year, I generally stick with Barbara's boxes.
This morning Good Morning America recognized Cereal Day by featuring a sculptor's U.S. map made of cereal. I thought the map was interesting, even if the hosts' questions were a little ridiculous ("Tell me about what made you choose the Cocoa Puffs for Iowa." "How long before ants take it over?")
