JOLIET, Ill. (AP) - The judge at Drew Peterson's murder trial says he expects the sides to deliver closing arguments Tuesday.

Judge Edward Burmila made the comment Thursday after prosecutors called their last rebuttal witness.

The state called more than 30 witnesses over four weeks to support allegations the former suburban Chicago police officer killed his third wife, Kathleen Savio. The defense called around a dozen witnesses over three days.

Prosecutors called two witnesses in their one-day rebuttal. They focused on the central question of whether Savio was actually killed in 2004.

Pathologist Michael Baden Thursday echoed other state witnesses, saying he believed she was murdered. The defense says Savio died accidentally in a bathtub fall.

Peterson pleaded not guilty to murder. He was charged after his fourth wife, Stacy Peterson, disappeared in 2007.
