Pinellas County, Florida - Ron McVety wanted to make a big impression on Missy Green. So when he popped the big question, the 50-year-old engineer put himself up for the world to see.
"I decided to broadcast to the world such a big message, that I wanted to make sure there was no doubt in anybody's mind," said McVety, who had been married once before.
This time he decided to put his marriage proposal to Green on two billboards. One is located on East Bay Boulevard in Largo. The other is on Gulf Boulevard in Indian Rocks Beach.
The two met on a blind date set up by a mutual friend. Three years later, Green got big surprise when McVety drove up to the sign on Gulf Blvd. and proposed.
"He didn't need to do anything, just ask would have been fine," said 40-year-old Green, the mother of two who will share a second chance at love after the high concept advertisement hit its target audience.
