Daytona Beach, Florida - More than $10,000 worth of rare fish were killed when their tanks exploded during a fire at a pet store that has been in business for 28 years.
According to our CBS Station, Local 6, Firefighters responded to the blaze at the Daytona Aquarium located on International Speedway Boulevard at 3 a.m. Saturday and found the structure engulfed in flames.
Hundreds of expensive fish were inside the building.
After the fire, Owner Gary Johnson and firefighters raced to save the surviving fish. They placed them in Kiddie Pools. Johnson said he has had a passion for fish since he was a child and plans to rebuild his business.
Johnson said the damage to the building is estimated at $100,000.
