Spring Hill, Florida – What began as an investigation into a stolen motorcycle ended with deputies finding a potpourri of drugs in the master bedroom of a Spring Hill home.
Thursday, Hernando County sheriff's deputies arrived at the house on the 12,000 block of Palomar Street to look into a report of a stolen motorcycle.
Deputies talked to the man who lives there, 32-year-old Anthony Louis Scorza, and asked to search the home. Scorza agreed and even signed a search waiver, according to the arrest affidavit.
In Scorza's master bedroom, deputies found:
- 33 Oxycodone pills
- 16 Xanax/Alprazolam pills
- 8 methadone wafers
- 4 hydrocodone pills
- 4 glass smoking pipes
Scorza told deputies the pipes were used “for smoking crystal methamphetamine,” according to the affidavit. But Scorza claims the drugs belonged to his roommate's brother.
Scorza was charged with trafficking Oxycodone and possessing the rest of the drugs. He was transported to the Hernando County Jail.
Scorza was also charged with dealing in stolen property on account of a motorcycle found on his driveway.
Deputies say a woman had paid Scorza $1,000 for the 2006 Suzuki GSXR 750 and agreed to pay the remaining $3,000 balance after Scorza made some repairs. Scorza denied being involved in the sale of the bike.
