Tampa, Florida — A judge has dismissed a Tampa woman's request for a restraining order against Washington Nationals outfielder Elijah Dukes.
Dukes appeared in court alone today. But Amanda Reese wasn't. Dukes replied “no” when the Hillsborough County judge asked him whether he had anything to do Reese's absence. The judge then dismissed her request for an injunction.
Reese had been granted a temporary injunction earlier this month after she said she feared Dukes would harm her. In documents, Reese claims she and Dukes briefly dated and that she felt threatened by his phone calls and text messages. She claims the pair split in October.
Dukes declined to comment after the hearing. Reese could not be immediately reached for comment.
Dukes was traded last month by the Tampa Bay Rays to the Nationals.
Dukes has also had off the field problems with his ex-wife and their children.
