Port Richey, Florida - A female patient of Dr. Gunwant Dhaliwal tells the Pasco Sheriff's office the doctor touched her breasts when he examined her. The woman, who we will call Tammy, says she was in shock at what happened.
But it is a story we have heard several times before about Dhaliwal. Other women have made claims that the doctor touched them inappropriately.
The latest to come forward contacted detectives and the medical board after she saw some of the other stories we did.
"When I first saw the story, I was, 'Oh my God, I'm not the only one,'" she tells us. "I started shaking, I couldn't believe he had done this to other people."
We've tried several times to get Dhaliwal to explain, but he has not made any comment.
Dhaliwal has told investigators that in the past, he always had a female nurse in the room when he examines a female patient. But this latest victim, just like all the others, told detectives that it is an absolute lie.
Tammy knows the proper procedure for having a nurse in the room, because she herself is a registered nurse.
In the past, Dhaliwal has been able to convince investigators that the women are imagining he is doing something improper, but when several of the women met with Pasco detectives, the head of the unit began another investigation.
The spokesperson for the Sheriff's Office says they do plan to refer three of the cases to the state attorney's office for prosecution.
The Board of Medicine has begun an investigation of its own, and the women who filed complaints say he should lose his license. The Board says at this point, Dhaliwal has a clean record.
We contacted his attorney several times, but he did not return our calls.
