Davenport, Florida — A 5-year-old boy died of an accidental drowning Thursday night at a residence in Davenport, the Polk County Sheriff's office reported.
Deputies and EMS were called to 257 Sandridge Drive in the Windward Bay subdivision just after 7:30 p.m. when Zachary Ziskie found in the pool at the residence.
The sheriff's office says the boy's parents performed CPR on him until EMS arrived, and EMS continued CPR on him until they arrived at the Heart of Florida hospital in Davenport. The boy was pronounced dead at 8:02 p.m.
The Ziskie family rented the residence, which is a short-term rental, for their vacation. They are from Warren, Michigan.
