Ocala (AP) — Authorities have identified two men found shot to death in the Ocala National Forest, but are still trying to learn what led to their slayings.
Javier Huerta and Gustavo Olivares Rivas were discovered by a passer-by in the back seat of Huerta's pickup truck Wednesday. The Marion County Sheriff's Office says both had been shot multiple times and their identification was confirmed by fingerprints.
Authorities say they worked together in the masonry business. They lived close together and were good friends. Officials are questioning dozens of relatives and acquittances of the two to see if they can get any lead on what happened. The sheriff's office says officials believe someone in the front seat may have shot the two and caught a ride from the area.
