Lakeland, Florida - Police have two suspects in custody after a bank robbery and a 10-mile chase with four accidents.

Police say 29-year-old John Paul Olson of Lakeland robbed the Suntrust bank on South Florida Avenue just after 11:00 Friday morning.

A witness told police the robber put his bicycle into the back of a white pickup truck and the chase was on.

A police helicopter followed the truck until a patrol car rammed it on state highway 98 near Sleepy Hill Road.

Jack Gillen, Lakeland Police Spokesman
We were very fortunate today we had our helicopter up. You can't run from a helicopter, they didn't have a chance. They really didn't have a chance and we're all happy it ended this way.

Police say the bank robbery suspect's brother drove the getaway truck. He's identified as 23-year-old Michael Olson of Lakeland.

Police say none of the drivers involved in the accidents were seriously injured.
