Sarasota, Florida -  Detectives with the Sarasota Police Department's narcotics unit got word from the Houston Police department that a suspicious package was being shipped by UPS from Houston to an address in Sarasota.

The Houston PD reported that one of their narcotics K-9's made a positive “hit” on the package. Once the package arrived in Sarasota, SPD detectives took possession of it. An SPD K-9 also made a positive “hit” on the package.

Officers opened the package and discovered four smaller wrapped packages of Marijuana, totaling 48-pounds. On Monday of last week, an undercover detective, acting as a UPS driver, delivered the package to a house in the 1500 block of North Orange Avenue.

Once the package was accepted and taken into the house, detectives obtained a search warrant. The search warrant was later executed and two subjects were taken into custody.

Arrested was 22-year-old Antonio A. Camacho and 27-year-old Danny M. Cruz. Both men were charged with trafficking in marijuana over 25-pounds.

The penalty for that charge is a fine of up to $50,000 and a prison term of three to 30 years.
