Visitors and Bay area residents headed to Raymond James Stadium on New Year's Day for the 1 p.m. Outback Bowl between Iowa and Louisiana State may want to choose alternate routes besides I-275 to Dale Mabry Hwy.
Increased congestion combined with some fairly new traffic patterns in the area will undoubtedly cause back-ups on northbound and southbound I-275 approaching Dale Mabry Hwy.
Here are some alternative options for approaching the stadium:
From mid to northern Pinellas: Take the Courtney Campbell Causway to SB Memorial Hwy./Veterans Expy. Take the Spruce St. exit to Spruce/Boy Scout Blvd. and head east to Dale Mabry Hwy.
From southern Pinellas: Take the Gandy Bridge to Westshore Blvd. Take Westshore north to Boy Scout Blvd. Head east to Dale Mabry Hwy.
From eastern Hillsborough: Take Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. or Hillsborough Ave. west to Himes Ave. (this allows you to avoid congested Dale Mabry Hwy. all together along with I-275)
From downtown Tampa: Take Kennedy Blvd. west to Himes Ave. Take Himes Ave. north to the east side of Raymond James Stadium. Parking is available on both sides of the stadium.
From northern Hillsborough, Pasco and points northward: Take the Veterans Expy. SB to Hillsborough Ave. Take Hillsborough Ave. east to Dale Mabry Hwy. or Himes Ave.
