Tampa Bay, Florida-- It's the time of year to give thanks, and also to give back, and the Tampa Bay Area is full of ways to do so!
Whether you're going solo, getting the whole family involved, or using your business to make a difference, here are four ways to help those in need this season.
1. Metropolitan Ministries: Volunteers of all ages are needed to serve the hungry, or help organize food and toy donations at their Tampa holiday tent.
Businesses wanting to give back have the option of hosting a food drive.
2. Faith Cafe in Tampa: This is set up like a real restaurant where volunteer servers treat guests like customers at a café. You might set the table, cook and serve meals, or handout other donated goods to "neighbors in need".
3. Feeding America Tampa Bay. They have entire warehouses full of foods that need to be sorted and stocked, and hope you'll help "Map the Meal Gap" by becoming a Hunger Advocate.
4. The Salvation Army can also use your help. Aiming to "shield hunger, homelessness and despair", they accept donations, offer a "host-a-drive" program, and have scheduled volunteer events.
A heads up to students- they say it's a great way to earn service hours for school credit!
Giving back can be done in all sorts of ways. These charities and others like them would be grateful for your gift. Whether you can make a donation, or lend a hand, you'll help make this holiday season, a happy one.
