Gulfport, Florida -- An elderly man recounts the night he was robbed and had to find a creative way to get help.
Still emotional from the tragic events that took place on Friday evening, Louis Fierro remembers how he felt in the room where he sat, afraid he'd never make it out.
"I keep thinking what if no one came. It's a terrible thing."
Fierro says his neighbor, 24-year-old Nathan Rewerts, had stopped by his home looking for help Friday night.
"I went in to my house and he asked for masking tape."
Little did he know that Rewerts would use the masking tape to tie him up.
"He was so rough he carried me in the room and taped me up and kept taping me up."
Rewerts then stole Fierro's Camaro and drove away. As for Fierro he was able to remove the tape from his arms with his teeth. Fierro was able to call the police who tracked Rewerts using the On Star GPS system in the car.
But still, 24 hours later, Fierro finds it to forget the terrifying events that took place in his home.
"I don't feel safe. I think I am going to get a gun. Why would he pick on an old man?"
Rewerts awaits extradition and charges in Pinellas county.
