Town N Country, Florida -- Hillsborough County deputies say the driver responsible for a fatal hit and run crash that killed a pedestrian Monday evening returned to the scene and confessed to the crime.

Deputies say 53-year-old Patricia Plaud was trying to cross the northbound lanes of West Waters Ave. from Oak Trace Way in Town N Country when she was hit by a Ford F-150 heading east on Waters.

Investigators say the driver hit Plaud while trying to swerve out of the way and continue driving without stopping.

Plaud was pronounced dead at the scene minutes later.

Authorities say around 8:45 p.m., Delvys Castellon, 36, returned to the scene and admitted to the offense. He was arrested for leaving the scene of a crash involving death and was booked into the Hillsborough County Jail.
