BRANDON, Fla. (AP) - Deputies are searching for the driver of a second vehicle that ran over a pedestrian in Hillsborough County and then fled the scene.

The sheriff's office reports William H. Williams was driving a 2000 Nissan Xterra Friday at about 10:35 p.m. on Lakewood Drive when 29-year-old Antoine Brown ran across the street.

Investigators say Brown was struck by the Nissan and then hit by a second vehicle.

A witness described the second car as a dark-colored, four-door vehicle, possibly a Honda. The driver was female and believed to bearing a white shirt and hospital-scrub type pants.

The pedestrian was taken to Tampa General Hospital where he died.

Anyone with information about the driver of the second vehicle is asked to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at 813-247-8200.
