Port Richey, Florida -- A repair in a water main puts all of Sandpebble and Harbor Point under a boil water notice for 3 days.
The City of Port Richey did work on a main break which was leaking and needed to be repaired.
Due to the loss of water pressure, as a precaution, when service returns, the City of Port Richey Utility Department advises all water used for drinking or cooking be boiled. A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient. As an alternative, bottled water may be used.
The "Precautionary Boil Water Notice" will remain in effect until a bacteriological survey shows the water is safe to drink, at which point the boil water notice will be rescinded. Generally the boil water notice is in effect for three working days beginning the day the pressure is lost: a notice of recession will be delivered upon receipt of the passing bacteriological survey.
If you have any questions please contact the City of Port Richey at 727-816-1900 extension 2.
