St. Petersburg, Florida-- A major movement in the Rays stadium saga came Monday night when Mayor Bill Foster said the Rays should be able to look at sites in Tampa.

In a conversation Monday night, Mayor Foster told 10 News the city of St. Petersburg is working toward an amendment to the lease that would allow the Rays to look outside the city limits.

However, the city still wants to protect itself, and local leaders don't want to weaken the current lease that keeps the Rays in St. Pete until 2027.

The two sides are still working towards an agreement.
