ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a 20-year-old man and a teen broke into a St. Petersburg home and set a bed on fire.

Police said Taqueze Washington and the 14-year-old boy broke in through a rear window on the home earlier this week, set the bed on fire with a Bic lighter, stole several items and fled.

No one was home when the fire started. Officials said all the contents in the house were damaged.

The Tampa Bay Times reports Washington later confessed to setting the fire. He was charged Friday with trespassing, burglary and second-degree arson.
