Clearwater, Florida -- It's the biggest synthetic marijuana bust in Clearwater history, and police took us along for the ride.

Clearwater Police say they found synthetic marijuana, also called "spice" or "K-2," at all four of the convenience stores they raided Thursday morning. But one store topped them all.

Police say a whole room was packed with packets of the stuff in the back of the Hillcrest Store at Gulf-to-Bay Blvd. and Hillcrest Ave. Twenty large garbage bags, bulging with baggies, were stacked up as technicians and officers logged everything they found inside.

The amount of evidence seized was so large, detectives worried it wouldn't fit into their crime scene van to be carried away.

It's the largest single K-2 bust in the history of the City of Clearwater, police said.

"As a law enforcement entity, that's our responsibility -- to make sure that we enforce the law," said Clearwater Police Deputy Chief Sandra Wilson.

At each of the stores busted Wednesday, detectives say they've had undercover officers buy synthetic pot in the past.

Packets of "spice" often have labels like "Scooby Snax" and "AK-47," but police say they're as dangerous as drugs bought on the street.
