HONDURAS-- Nine boaters who were missing since Saturday were rescued by the Coast Guard Wednesday morning.
They were found at about 10:30 a.m., about 55 miles northwest of their intended destination in Utila, Honduras.
A Coast Guard Air Station crew spotted them from right here in Clearwater! The video above shows them arriving in the same helicopter used to rescue them, and also shows their boat as soon as they were spotted.
It was very small, but amazingly, all eight people on board survived.
Rescue crews searched more that 4,500 square miles, an area greater than the states of Delaware and Rhode Island combined!
