Tampa, Florida -- Seven Tampa Police Officers helped save a man from a burning car after a serious traffic crash.
Around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, officers responded to a traffic crash involving two cars. It was reported that one of the vehicles was on fire and the occupant was trapped inside the car.
Upon arrival, officers found a 1994 Monte Carlo was on fire with an unconscious occupant trapped inside. As the officers tried to remove the trapped individual from the burning vehicle they used fire extinguishers in an attempt to extinguish the fire.
The fire continued to grow so the officers had to forcibly pull the individual from the burning vehicle.
As a result of the officers heroic effort in removing the individual from the fully engulfed vehicle they saved his life. The individual sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
Six of the officers suffered from smoke inhalation and received treatment at Tampa General Hospital. The officers were released back to full duty.
