Tampa, FL-- After the Bucs' first morning on the practice field, during team OTA's, head coach Greg Schiano reiterated that Josh Freeman is his starting quarterback.
This, after comments to a national football reporter, that rookie QB Mike Glennon could play quickly... if Freeman gets hurt, or if Glennon beats him out of the job.
Schiano was asked if he was aware of the growing national belief that Freeman is not "his guy".
"That's innacurate, I was just answering the question," Schiano told reporters. "I told you guys at the beginning, I was going to shoot straight with you... I was telling him the truth that I believe in competition, but I also believe that Josh Freeman is our starting quarterback... Maybe I shouldn't say anything and it wouldn't be an issue... Josh knows how I feel... You guys know how I feel... And Mike Glennon does too."
