Palm Harbor, FL-- The Tampa Bay Championship at Innisbrook is just 3 weeks away, and tournament organizers are still searching for a title sponsor for 2014.

The Copperheads, the volunteer group of Tampa Bay area community leaders, are funding this year's tournament along with the PGA Tour.  It's believed the tournament could not continue without a title sponsor in 2014.

"In fact I've been on the phone all morning talking to some groups, about the 2013 tournament," tournament director Kevin Krisle told 10 News.   "This remains a great stop on the PGA tour, one that we're fortunate to be a part of, one that everyone wants to keep going... And we look forward to the day when we can announce the right partner to move this thing forward."

Luke Donald will return to defend his 2012 championship.  Players have until Friday, Mar. 8 at 5pm, to officially committ to playing in the tournament.

Former champs Gary Woodland, Jim Furyk, Retief Goosen, and Vijay Singh are expected to play, along with Sergio Garcia, Nick Watney, Bo Van Pelt, Adam Scott, and John Daly who is receiving a sponsor's exemption.

Tournament week begins Monday, Mar. 11 with the Chi Chi Rodriguez Academy Pro-Am.  First round is Thursday, Mar. 14.
