Tampa, Florida -- A motorcyclist involved in an accident that closed a Tampa intersection during rush hour Wednesday remains in critical condition today.
Hillsborough County deputies responded to the crash at Sinclair Hills Road and Livingston Avenue in North Tampa around 2:20 yesterday afternoon.
After an investigation into the crash, the sheriff's office says Robert Damian was not able to stop his Harley Davidson motorcycle in time for traffic that was stopped in front of him.
Damian, 48, skidded and traveled into the opposite lane of Livingston Avenue and hit the side of a 1998 Nissan. He then continued into oncoming traffic and hit the side of a 1996 Toyota Corolla.
He was rushed to St. Joseph's Hospital where he remains Thursday in critical condition. He was not wearing a helmet at the time. No one else involved in the crash was injured.
The investigation continues.
