Clearwater, Florida -- Police are releasing new information and images in the cold case of a murdered cab driver, hoping to finally solve the crime.

Jack LaGrand's boss said he was a model cab driver who loved working the night shift.

Exactly four years ago, LaGrand was found shot to death behind the Cabaret Center strip mall on U.S. 19 near Enterprise Road in Clearwater.

Police are not giving up on this man's murder. They think they have the clues that could lead to answers, and even an arrest.

Monday, police in Clearwater plan to share new details about the September 17, 2008 killing that they've never made public before.

A group of volunteers and detectives will be briefed on that new information. Then they'll head out to multiple neighborhoods -- likely including the area of the murder, which is south of the Countryside Mall.

They will hand out flyers with details in English and Spanish. Why Spanish? Detectives say the man shown in this surveillance video is Hispanic and he's the passenger LaGrand picked up at Fat Daddy's Bar in Dunedin.

Police say LaGrand drove that man to the Cabaret Center shopping center about a mile away. Security camera video from that shopping center shows the taxi parked behind the building around 1 to 2 a.m.

In the video, the passenger gets out of the taxi and runs back and forth around the car several times. Then, after going up the the driver's side once more, the passenger sprints away from the cab.

LaGrand was found murdered in his cab at 7:30 that morning. He had been shot to death. All of the money had been taken from his wallet.

New, enhanced images taken from that video will be released along with other new details by the Clearwater Police Department at 2:30 p.m. Monday.

We'll post those new details here on and also bring them to you on TV on 10 News starting at 5 p.m.
