Lutz, Florida -- If you see smoke in the Lutz area surrounding Lake Park, don't alarmed. The county is conducting a prescribed burn at the park Friday.
The burn will last one day. The purpose of the burn is for ecological site management and hazardous fuels reduction.
Communications contact Kemly Jimenez Green says that officials typically go around to the neighborhoods surrounding Lake Park notifying residents a few days prior to the scheduled burn.
On another note, the torrential rains of Tropical Storm Debby have left residual water in the back of the park. With the additional rain from yesterday's storm in the area, some back areas of trails in the park are closed temporary but are expected to be open for the weekend.
